The Hearing Institute is staffed by highly trained and certified audiologists, dispensers and technicians who specialize in providing the highest level of diagnostic hearing evaluations and custom fitting for assistive hearing devices. Patricia Argote-Muza, Audiologist - Doctoral Externship
Patricia Argote-Muza joined the Hearing Institute in June of 2008. She is an Audiology Extern who is currently a fourth year Doctor of Audiology graduate student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She received her Masters of Arts Degree in Audiology from the University of Minnesota-Twin cities in May of 2008. Prior to her enrollment in the Au.D program, she worked in the hearing aid industry for 7 years. She was also trained in Colombia- South America where she received her Bachelor Degree in Communication Disorders and a Specialization Degree in Audiology. She also worked in Colombia as a clinical audiologist. Patricia is bilingual serving patients in English and Spanish. |

Emily Brandner, Au.D.
Emily Brandner graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing science. She continued her education at Western Michigan University and received her doctorate in audiology in August 2007.

Erin Foster, Audiologist - Doctoral Externship
Erin Foster is currently attending Towson University in Maryland and will receive her Au.D. in May of 2009. Her doctoral thesis is entitled The Relationship Among Patient Self Assessment of Dizziness, Handicap, Anxiety, and Medical Diagnosis. Erin received her B.A. in Speech, Language, Hearing Science and Psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is looking forward to moving back to her hometown of Minneapolis and buying her first home. Her hobbies include photography, going to concerts, traveling, jewelry making and scrapbooking. |

Sara Lindgren, Ototech
Sara Lindgren will receive her certification as an Oto-Tech in October 2008. She joined the Paparella Ear Head and Neck Institute in 2006 and became a part of The Hearing Institute in 2008. She is currently working towards her degree as a radiologist technologist. In her free time she enjoys scrapbooking, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. |

Barbara Ortiz, Au.D.
Barbara Ortiz graduated from the University of Arizona in 2002 with a bachelor's of science degree in speech and hearing sciences and a bachelor's of arts degree in sociology. She obtained her doctorate in audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas in May 2008. She joined the Paparella Ear, Head, and Neck Institute in May of 2007. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She obtained her clinical certification in audiology from ASHA. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, making crafts, and playing with her cats.

Pamela Roth, Au.D.
Pamela Roth received her bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and completed her Doctorate in Audiology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She joined the Paparella Ear Head and Neck Institute in May 2007 to complete her graduate program. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and looks forward to continuing her profession in Audiology. |

Tristin Santori, Ototech
Tristin Santori is working towards her license as a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Dispenser. She joined The Hearing Institute in 2005 as a certified Oto-Tech. Along with her training in hearing science, she is working toward her degree as a Registered Nurse. In her free time she enjoys nature photography and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.

Brooke Welch, Audiologist - Doctoral Externship
Brooke Welch is currently completing her Au.D. externship here at the Paparella Ear Head & Neck Institute. A native Iowan, she attended the University of Iowa for both her undergraduate and graduate education. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology in 2005, her Master’s degree in Audiology in 2008, and will receive her Doctorate in Audiology in May 2009. Her clinical areas of interest include hearing aids and diagnostic audiology. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, and doing anything crafty. She also enjoys watching college football, and continues to cheer for the Hawkeyes while living in the Gopher state. |
